Viper's Kiss (Back Down Devil MC #8)(48)

“I’m going to be a father,” Blaine said.

Everyone looked around.

“Oh,” Shay said.

“Jessa is pregnant,” Blaine said. “We, uh, well…”

“Jesus Christ,” Gaige said. “You made a child?”

“That’s right.”

“You’re going to have a kid?” Erik asked. “A real kid?”

“Yes,” Blaine said.

Shay slowly stood up. “So you finally slipped one in there, huh?”

“To quote you, Shay… aye…”

“Well, f*ck me,” Shay said. He walked around the table. “We’re in the fight of our lives and this dirty, scumbag, piece of shit not only confesses he used to be a detective but he also has a pregnant woman in our clubhouse…”

Shay put his hands to Blaine’s shoulders.

“When you put it like that, Shay…” Blaine said.

“You motherf*cker,” Shay said. “You’re going to be a dad.”

Miller made a fist and hit the table. Then Gaige did the same. Then Trev, Nate, Jace, Erik, and Landon. Shay reached over Blaine and hit his fist on the table.

Then they all started to scream and cheer for Blaine.

“I knew you’d do it,” Gaige said. “You just had to find the right hole to stick your dick in.”

“Thanks,” Blaine said.

“Our family is growing,” Miller said. “We have more reasons than ever to fight and protect our town and our club. The future of this MC is waiting out there. But the present is right here at this table. Remember that.”

Miller called the table clear and everyone took a moment to congratulate Blaine.

“Free sex,” Landon said. “You bastard.”

“It’s amazing,” Blaine said.

“What are you going to tell your strippers?” Erik asked.

“I’ll break it to them gently. Let them fight over my cock one last time.”

“That’s why you and me took care of that guy?” Trev asked.

“Yes, brother. How’s your shoulder?”

“Great. I can’t believe this. You as a father scares me.”

“Scares me too,” Blaine said.

“No, it f*cking terrifies me,” Trev said. “I need a drink.”

The room cleared except Blaine, Gaige, and Miller.

Blaine saw Gaige shut the door and nod.

Oh, f*ck.

“We’re not done,” Blaine whispered.

“Not yet,” Miller said.

“Congrats on the kid,” Gaige said. “Emily is going to drive me f*cking nuts now. She’s been wanting to do it for a long time.”

“I could help with that,” Blaine said.

“What? Convince me to have a kid?”

“No,” Blaine said. “I have feral sperm. Let me f*ck her once. That’s all it’ll take.”

“Can I shoot him now?” Gaige asked Miller.

“Not yet,” Miller said.

“Yet?” Blaine said. “What the…”

“Someone told you that Vin was dead,” Miller said. “But Vin wasn’t dead. You called that person. You were set up.”

“Yeah,” Blaine said. “That’s right.”

“Is Vin really that smart? To know you’d call?”

“He’s smart. He went to visit Jessa and scared the shit out of her. Sent her right to me.”

“And he followed,” Miller said. “Right to us.”

“You’re suggesting this is all Jessa’s fault?”

“I don’t think blame will get us anywhere,” Gaige said. “We’re trying to figure this out.”

“Look, whatever Vin was planning started from the inside,” Blaine said. “Now he has a chance to kill a lot of birds with one big f*cking stone.”

“Explain,” Miller said.

“He controls a failing club with Eight Under. Signs their ass to the cartel, which probably leaves him protected. He gets to push into us and try to take us down. If he does, he runs through here and cleans up. If not, he’s still earning with drugs and guns through Eight Under. Then he gets to finish killing me and killing Jessa.”

“What about ties to Ethan?” Gaige asked.

“I doubt it,” Blaine said.

“What if we talk to Ethan about Vin?” Miller asked. “That could be our catalyst to some kind of understanding.”

“I’ll do that,” Blaine said. “I’ll talk to Ethan. He knows Vin. He gets it. Vin is corrupt. He’s worse…”

“The guy you called,” Gaige cut Blaine off. “He have ties to anything around? Friends to call? Favors to demand?”

“What are you implying?” Blaine asked.

“This guy…,” Miller said.

“Petey.”

“Yeah. Petey. This guy could be running around in the dark, feeding Vin information.”

Blaine considered it. “Christ. If he is, Vin has him tied down pretty bad.”

“What’s the best solution here?” Miller asked.

Blaine leaned back. He nodded. “You know, when Trev told me about the prospects, we were at Jessa’s office. She patched him up because he got shot. He told me you want to test my loyalty. You never brought anything up about it, Miller. My loyalty to this MC never needs to be tested.”
