The Last Mission of the Living (The Last Bastion #2)(127)

Lindsey giggled. “Nice escape plan!”

“It was rather fun and exciting.”

Lindsey launched herself into Torran’s arms and he swung her about.

When Torran set her down, his smile could barely contain his elation. “God, you’re beautiful.”

Wrapping her arms around his neck, Lindsey clung to him, relishing the smell of his hair and skin, and the feel of him against her body. “I’ve never been so happy to see a death announcement in my communiques.”

Torran set her on her feet and pressed his forehead to hers. “Never been so glad to be dead.”

Pressing her hands against his cheeks, she stared into his dark eyes. “I knew you’d come.”

“Was there ever any doubt?”

“Never.”

Torran’s kiss was sweet and passionate. Lindsey relished every caress of his lips and touch of his tongue. When their mouths finally parted, she was flushed and even cheerier than before.

“God, I’ve been dreaming of that kiss,” she admitted.

“I’ve been dying for it. I feel a little burn in my veins,” Torran said, smacking his lips. “Think I’m infected yet? Should we give that another go?”

Grabbing his hand, Lindsey tugged him toward the cottage. “We definitely need another go. But in bed and naked.”

“You realize we now need an official name for this thing we have between us,” he said with a wicked gleam in his eye as he strolled alongside her.

“We’ll think of something eventually,” Lindsey assured him. “After all, we have forever.”
