Reckless Temptations (Tempted #4)(32)

I blinked, pushing the broad off my lap and leaned forward to get a better look, to make sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me.

My Kitten stared back at me for a moment. Her eyes wide behind her glasses but there was something different about them. They were done up with that eye crap girls put on when they want to give a guy the “come fuck me” eyes. Kitten most definitely stared back at me with the come fuck me eyes. My eyes took in the rest of her, noting her hair was loose, falling around her face in waves. I couldn’t wait to pull it.

She was wearing a tight black dress that stopped mid-thigh and high on the neck. Her tits were completely covered, and I started thinking of the quickest way to get to them. I decided I’d pull the collar of her dress down her shoulders until the girls sprang free. It seemed like the quickest and easiest way to get my mouth on her.

I stood tall, pulling my pants up, ready to claim what was mine and give her what her eyes told me they wanted but she turned abruptly, grabbing Bones by his cut and wrapping her arms around him. That’s when I saw the back of her dress was missing, exposing her creamy olive skin to me and every fucking guy in here.

Bones grinned at her, snaking his arm around her to place his hand against the small of her back, slowly working it up her bare skin.

I pulled the gun from my back pocket, not thinking, not fucking caring, just knowing no one’s hands, other than my own, belonged on Lauren.

“Whoa, brother, what the hell are you doing?” Wolf asked me, stepping into my line of sight.

“Get the fuck out of my way, Wolf,” I growled, looking over his shoulder as Lauren turned around and shimmied her ass against Bones. He grabbed her hips and moved with her, thrusting his hips against her to the beat of the music. She smiled, her eyes scanning the room until they locked with mine again, and then she narrowed them at me.

The come fuck me eyes were gone, replaced with fuck you eyes.

I pushed Wolf out of my way and stalked toward her, her eyes drifting down to the gun in my hand and widening before she spun on her heel.

They spun around together, Bones kept his back toward me as Lauren tried to hide behind him.

“What are you doing?” Bones asked her.

“Um…do you have a gun? Who am I kidding? You all have guns don’t you?” She slapped her hand against her forehead. “It doesn’t matter, listen, now might be the time to grab the gun,” she rambled.

“You’re one of those crazy chicks that wants to get fucked with a gun aimed at her?” He questioned, backing away from her.

“What? No! Girls do that?”

“Kinky shit, sure. Had a girl that wanted me to choke her. Shit ain’t for me,” he explained.

“Shit!” Lauren hissed, as her eyes locked with mine and I pressed my gun to Bones back.

“I didn’t want you to fuck me with the gun, you dope! I was trying to warn you that if you didn’t pull yours, he’d get to you first,” she huffed. “Too late,” she added.

“Kitten,” I growled, holding the gun steady on Bones as I leaned over his shoulder. “You ever touch her again, I’ll blow your dick off,” I seethed, dropping the gun from Bones’ back and stepping around him as I glared at Lauren.

“You ever pull your gun on me again and I’ll blow your dick off, you hear me?” Bones whispered into my ear. “Pretty fine piece of ass you got there,” he acknowledged. “I’ll take her when you’re finished,” he said, patting me on the back before walking away.

Like fucking hell he would.

I mean it. I’d blow his dick off.

Best friend or not.

Lauren rolled her eyes and turned to leave. I wasn’t going to let her go anywhere. I reached for her and caught her wrist, stopping her from leaving.

“Going somewhere?”

“Yeah, home,” she sneered, tugging her arm free. I’d never seen her like this, so angry, so fucking hot. She turned toward Blackie, took his drink from his hand and threw the whiskey in my face before handing the empty glass back to him.

“Congratulations, you’re a dick with a patch,” she said, before turning and walking toward the door.

I sputtered whiskey from my mouth, lifting the hem of my t-shirt to dry my face, trying to ignore the surrounding chuckles.

“You better marry her because if you don’t I will,” Bones said, as he came up beside me and handed me a stack of napkins.

“Fuck off,” I shouted, throwing the napkins up in the air like confetti before I took off after her. “Lauren,” I shouted as I stepped outside. Scanning the grounds, I found her stalking through the parking lot.

I ran after her but Kitten had speed even in those heels she had on that threatened to take her down.

“Lauren, baby…Kitten,” I called.

She froze in her tracks and turned around.

Hallelujah!

Oh, shit!

She bent down, removing one of her high heels and swung it like a Cy-Young pitcher, aiming straight for my head.

“Are you fucking crazy?” I shouted, dodging death by a high heel.

“Oh, you think I’m crazy?” She asked incredulously, looking every bit crazy. No question about it. “Maybe I am crazy! I mean, I must be because I’m here, right? Standing here in my little black dress, against my better judgement, because well, tonight was a big night for you and I…” she let her words trail off. “…I am crazy,” she confirmed, shaking her head in disbelief.
