Luscious (Topped #1)(31)

“I will try my hardest not to trip, baby,” he said with a chuckle.

It was good to hear him laugh after all the seriousness of before. Even if he did trip, this was the type of man who would do everything he could to take the pain for himself. He would kill himself to make sure she didn’t get hurt.

He was also the type of man who would be so hurt if he ever found out why she’d come here. Given everything that had happened to him, he wouldn’t trust easily.

She needed time with him, needed for him to become so comfortable with her, he wouldn’t walk away. She only needed a few weeks. A month, perhaps. Maybe after she married him.

God, she was in love with Macon Miles and she wanted to marry him.

He settled her on top of the covers. Like everything she’d been given since she’d met this man, the bed was lush and comfortable. Her life had become easy in a way it never had been before. Even with her mom and Ronnie, she’d had the judgment of the rest of her town. The legacy of her father’s violence had been a cloud that clung to her. But here in Dallas, there was only sunshine and friendship and him.

She let him move her arms over her head.

“I want you to hold them there until I tell you it’s all right to move,” he commanded, his voice turning deep.

She relaxed, luxuriating in the feel of softness at her back. Her skin was sensitized, as though her pores had opened up to soak in the feeling.

“I think you’re beautiful, Ally. I especially think you’re gorgeous like this. The longer I’m with you, the less I think I can be happy being vanilla. I don’t need it all the time, but I want nights where I’m in control, where you trust me enough to give over to me.”

“I want that, too, Macon. But for now, I want you to touch me again.”

“There you go giving orders.” His hand covered her breast and she arched into his touch. He closed his fingers around one nipple, rolling it deliciously. “I’ll teach you not to do that in here. In here, I’m the top.”

He pinched down and Ally squealed, the pain so unexpected.

“Give it a second.” His hand was on her belly, holding her in place. “Tell me you didn’t feel that in your *, baby.”

The pain had bitten into her, but he was right. It had morphed somewhere from her nipple to her * and now she had a melting sensation between her thighs. “That hurt.”

“But you’re not moving.” His fingers slid over the crotch of her underwear. “And these seem curiously wet.”

She was wet, wetter than she’d ever been before. It was disconcerting to realize how far gone she was. She kind of wanted him to pinch her other nipple, to see if the sensation worked the same way. It had to have been a mistake. She couldn’t have liked it.

“Stop thinking about it.” His fingers slid over her clit and she couldn’t help but squirm. “Just let it be. Let me play with you. Anything you really can’t handle, tell me and I’ll stop, but give it a second. You can’t know if you like it. Not until you’ve tried it. But I think you do. Your breathing changed. You panted for a minute and then relaxed. Like this.”

He twisted the other nipple, a sharp edge of pain that became warmth and a druggy sense of satisfaction.

“Tell me, did that hurt enough to never have the sensation again?”

She could hear him moving, something rustling. Not being able to see was keeping her on edge, her body active and awake in a way it had never been before. “No. It hurt, but then it felt good.”

There was a little sound, almost like a soft pop. “That was me taking off the leg. It’s easier to be in bed without it. For all its high tech, it doesn’t move like a normal leg here. Don’t be afraid.”

She snorted. “I’m not afraid of your leg, Miles, and get over the whole I’m not pretty thing. You’re the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen, leg or no leg. That stump of yours is probably hot, too.”

Was that why he really blindfolded her? Because he was insecure about the leg? She was fairly certain it was why he didn’t play with the guys. He never wore shorts either.

The bed dipped and she was careful to keep her hands above her head. Her lover, it seemed, liked to be obeyed, and he got off track when he wasn’t. When she really thought about it, this was about him. He got very distracted by disobedience. She would have to watch for that. She would also have to find a way to let him know how sexy he was, exactly the way he was.

“Do you know that I’ve really never been with anyone like you?” He eased on top of her and she was pinned to the bed. She loved the feel of his body on top of hers. “My ex-wife was excruciatingly polite. Even when she divorced me, she would never have said a thing about my stump.”

Embarrassment flashed through her. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t trying to be rude. I didn’t come from the same kind of high society you did. I’m so sorry.”

His body moved against hers, his mouth descended, and she felt his tongue on her nipple. “Baby, I didn’t really come from that place, either. I was raised by elite military schools, and they weren’t the kindest of parents. I did my duty, but with the singular exception of my brother Adam, I didn’t find a true friend until I actually got out into the Army. I liked the men and women in my unit. They were real and they spoke their minds and I didn’t have to worry about what was going on under their words. By then I’d already married Elise and I knew it was a mistake. I was more attracted to outspoken women, but I couldn’t call it quits. I love your nipples. I love how tight they get for me.”
