“We know a couple of good accountants, too,” Darryl joked.
“My CFO at the dealership does my personal taxes for me for a little extra every year,” she said. “But I’ll keep it in mind.”
“It doesn’t bother you that you’re way out of our league, does it?” Darryl quietly asked.
She sat up and met his gaze. “What? What are you talking about?”
“I’m going to throw it out there,” Darryl said. “I only make thirty grand a year. That’s barely enough to live on with having to pay alimony and child support. I’d be up shit creek if not for living with Grant. He’s better off than me, but you have to be far outside our income brackets.”
Grant had to admit that thought crossed his mind, too, but he wasn’t going to say it. He watched her face carefully.
She almost seemed to get angry.
“I’m only going to say this once,” she finally said. “I love you two guys. If you two didn’t give a shit about my financial situation when I was growing up, what makes you think I’d give a shit about yours now? Really? You think that little of me?”
“No!” they both said, but Grant let Darryl continue. “I’m sorry. I…just wanted it out there. I’m not very proud of the fact that I let myself get used for so many years and basically reduced to the kindness of others to crawl back to where I am.”
“Another reason we need to talk to Ed,” Grant said. “I don’t want finances to f*ck up our relationship.”
She met his gaze, and he spotted the tears welling in her eyes again. “We were doing pretty good before I lost John,” she said. “We also had personal life insurance on each other, and the corporation had insurance on him. Now on me,” she added. “I’m okay. You remember senior prom?”
Grant smiled. “You looked beautiful.”
“Yeah, and do you remember why?”
He frowned. “I don’t understand.”
She poked him and Darryl in the chest. “Somebodies pooled their money, and borrowed money from their parents, to buy me a dress and take me to dinner and the dance. I couldn’t have afforded a dress. Don’t think I’ve forgotten that. So if anything, I’m glad I’m finally in a position where I can repay the favor.”
She settled against his chest again. “There are countless things I’ve wished I could repay you for, most of them things you two did. I was closer to you guys and your parents than my own parents.”
“Didn’t they help you when John died?”
“They showed up, but they were too busy bickering with each other to be much help. Kristin and Ed finally sent them away.”
Grant nuzzled the top of her head again. “You’ll never be alone again, sweetheart. I promise. Not unless you ask us to be alone.”
She let out a weighty sigh that broke his heart. “Don’t make me a promise you’re not sure if you can keep,” she whispered. “John promised me he’d never leave me, and he didn’t exactly have control over that.”
Grant cupped her cheek with his palm and kissed her. “I promise I’ll do my best. How’s that?”
She nodded. He wished he hadn’t gone down this path, because shadows now clouded her features.
That was the last thing he wanted to do, make her sad.
“That’s a promise I can live with,” she said.
“I think it’s time we get out of these clothes and I get to play with you before we have lunch.”
“Play?” she asked.
He grinned. “By play of course I mean I want to spank that gorgeous ass of yours again while you’re sucking Darryl’s cock. Actually, I think it’s time Darryl gets to f*ck that sweet * of yours. You can suck my cock while he spanks you and f*cks you.”
She answered with a grin of her own, lifting his heart. “That sounds wonderful, Sir.”
Chapter Ten
After collapsing in a breathless heap from that round, Susie found herself snuggled in the middle of the bed between the men, her ass pleasantly stingy, her * deliciously aching from a thorough f*cking, and her heart and soul salved in a way she never dreamed possible.
“When’s lunch?” Darryl muttered.
Grant reached for his phone, fumbling it, finally getting it where he could look at it. “An hour. Snuggle time.”
She finally said it. “Can I ask you guys something?”
“Of course,” Darryl said. “You can ask us anything.”
“How’d you two go from roommates to hooking up?”
Darryl snorted. “Because he’s a sneaky bastard.”
“You weren’t saying that at the time,” Grant playfully shot back.
“Yeah, I was.”
“Oh. Right. You did, didn’t you?”
“Yes. It wasn’t a complaint, either. Do you want to tell her, Sir? Or do you want me to?”
“I think we both should.” Grant rolled onto his side to face her. “I’ll start. He’d been living with me for about six months. He knew I was kinky, because I’d told him. He needed to know if he was going to live with me.”
“I already knew you were kinky.”
“Yeah, but I wanted to make sure you knew you might hear stuff from time to time.”
