Hot Sauce (Suncoast Society #26)(75)
“Hell, you weren’t kidding,” Reed snarked. He reached behind her and unclipped her wrists so she could brace herself on the bed and help as he f*cked her. He didn’t take long to finish either, putting a load in her * and leaving her spent, exhausted, and happier than she’d ever been in her life.
She was going to try to move when she felt the end of the bed shake and a mumble fill the room.
Lyle laughed. “Dude, I walked you.”
Mumble.
“Go lay down,” she said.
Mumblemumble.
“Dammit,” Reed mumbled.
“The furkid is wanting to play,” Lyle said. She felt him stretch over and try to take the wubbie from Carlo, who ducked away, his mumbles growing even more excited.
That started her giggle fit, one that swelled and grew until she was hiccuping with laughter against Reed’s chest.
When she finally pulled herself together, Lyle asked, “And what was that about, baby girl?”
She sighed. “Thank you,” she said. “I know what you did there. Thank you for giving me a different reason to remember this date.”
Lyle leaned in. She turned her face so he could kiss you. “Love you, baby girl.”
“Love you, too, Sir.”
Reed smiled up at her. “Love you, baby girl.”
She grinned. “Love you, too, Sir.”
He kissed her. “Shall we get cleaned up?” Reed asked.
The bed bounced again, this time Carlo jumping up on it and mumbling as loudly as he could with the toy in his mouth.
“I think,” she said, “that we really don’t have a choice.”
Carlo sat down, spat the toy out onto the bed, and waited.
“If we don’t get up and play,” she said, “he’ll just keep bringing us toys. You know that.”
“Yeah,” Reed said, trying to reach for the toy.
Carlo, ever on guard, snatched it up, happily mumbling and now prancing around on the bed tail quickly wagging.
Then Carlo dropped the toy, grabbed the paddle, and jumped off the bed with it.
“Shit! Carlo!” Lyle untangled himself from her and dashed after the dog, who was happily mumbling to have found a new way to force his humans to play.
She giggled. “I think we really know who rules the roost.” She looked into Reed’s eyes.
Together, they both said, “Carlo.”
He rolled her over, pressing her into the mattress. “Are you really okay?”
“Yeah. I didn’t think I would be, but you guys kept me going.”
“I think you kept us going.” He kissed her, then sat up and helped her sit up. “And now, for a bath.”
From out in the house they heard Lyle arguing with Carlo.
“Carlo, cookies!” she called out.
Lyle sounded triumphant. “A-ha!” He returned shortly after with the paddle.
Behind him, Carlo reappeared with a new wubbie.
“Go give him a cookie,” she scolded. “Sir.”
He rolled his eyes. “That’s so wrong, rewarding him for stealing.” But he headed back to the kitchen.
Reed looked down at her. “At least you’re well trained,” he teased.
She grinned. “Yes, Sir.”
As they headed for the shower, a passage from Tony’s journal came to mind.
Life is great, the time I get to spend with Lyle and Reed like adding hot sauce to an already fantastic dish—it just makes it better. Do I wish I had a primary relationship? Duh, but I know whatever will happen, will happen. I’m trusting that I followed the right path, because now my life feels easy in a way it never did before. So I won’t doubt it, I won’t question it. And I damn sure won’t change a thing I’m doing now.
