Grounded By Love (The Giant Wars #2)(53)
Kaeldar strained his arms, as he tossed back his head and roared to the heavens. His cock tightened, and then released inside of her hot wet body, as her center squeezed every last drop of liquid from his member.
Claira's sweet sounds greeted his ears, as she came around his member. He wished he could listen to it all night long, yet he knew she would be tired, after they finished.
Panting he bent his head down touching his forehead to her own.
Never before had he thought he would be enjoying the comfort of a human female, a willing human female. Which was even more amazing. He would never have thought a human female would be a willing bed mate of a rock giant.
Looking down at her shuttered gaze he couldn't help but smile down at her. With her shiny hair spilling out from her head, it made her look like some sort of goddess fallen from the heavens. With those rosy lips and small nose, she looked so much daintier compared to giant females.
Kaeldar had seen many a human female, when he raided villages. Never before had he been impressed with any of the screaming fleeing females. Giant females were more than welcome to join the army, it was rare, but it happened, but he had never once seen a female in the human armies, and it surprised him.
A soft exhale from Claira's lips had him coming back to reality.
With his own sigh, he lifted himself and left her delicious body. Rolling onto his side next to her he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her into him.
“I love what we share here.”
Kaeldar’s smile, slowly, left his face. What was he doing? Sex was one thing, but cuddling with her was quite another.
Unceremoniously, he got up, taking his arms away from her. Making his way to his clothing he tried his best not to look at her. One look at her naked form, and he feared he would run back to her.
“Where are you going, Kaeldar?”
“There are some more things I need to take care of around the camp.”
“Surely, it can wait until the morning.”
Kaeldar turned around. “I have to, Claira.”
Sitting up on an elbow Claira addressed him again. “Please come back to the furs. I’m sure whatever it is can wait for just a little bit.”
“It can’t wait.” Kaeldar finished slipping his clothing on, and then made his way to the tent flap.
“Kaeldar don’t leave me like this.” Claira begged from behind him.
She watched him leave her, and her heart fell. She told herself not to get further involved with him earlier, and now look what she’d done.
The burn was almost as bad as the flames of the stake against the bottoms of her feet.
Chapter 16
His steps kept faltering, but he forced them to keep moving. He couldn’t go back to her. Kaeldar had to put distance between them. Sex was one thing, but cuddling afterwards was a whole new thing. Cuddling involved emotions and that was just too dangerous.
Once outside of the tent, Kaeldar took a deep breath of the cool night air. He was going to watch himself, because Claira was infecting him with confusing emotions.
Kaeldar would’ve liked nothing better than to have her tucked against his side, all of her soft curves fitting ever so nicely into his battle hardened ones. It was a tempting thought to turn back and join her.
“Keep walking.” He murmured, as he forced each foot to keep taking steps away from the tent.
He thought back to the battle that had ended up with him getting majorly injured. A human warrior had taken advantage of the opportunity, when Kaeldar had turned to help a fellow rock giant. The human had risen from a pile of bodies that Kaeldar thought were dead and done with.
It had been the mistake that had led him into Claira's life. Now that he knew her, he felt a little upset she hadn't left her cottage to seek some sort of safe distance from the battlefield.
Any of his men could’ve wandered up there and killed her.
But if she hadn't been there, he might never have received her expert healing care. Then they would never have encountered each other, and he wouldn’t be in such a situation.
Two days later Claira couldn't help but feel apprehensive of what the day would hold for her. Kaeldar was acting distant, and they were about to go to a rock giant castle. She didn’t want his protection to suddenly stop.
“Are you doing alright?” His deep voice washed over her.
Looking up at Kaeldar she gave a curt nod. “Yes.”
“I was concerned you might be worrying about what is to come.”
Tight lipped she gave a shake of her head. Right now she was feeling a mix of emotions, and she hadn't completely sorted them out quite yet. So there was no way she was going to be able to discuss them with him.
She was having an internal fight, to hate him or not. He could have at least tried to prevent the other rock giants from going to human villages, and he could cuddle with her after they had sex.
They were just finishing up breakfast, and she could feel the excitement in the air, it was so tangible. She knew these rock giants were ready to get back to their castle, but she had the jitters.
Right now she was the only female among a group of rock giant warriors, so Kaeldar had no choice to sleep with her, but when they arrived at the rock giant castle he would have more than just one choice, when it came to a bed companion.
Her heart gave her a major pinch, as she thought of his attention changing to another woman. Then she shook her head. She shouldn’t worry about such things. She was in a situation she couldn’t back out of, so she’d just have to see it through.
