Distraction (Club Destiny #8)(68)

Surprisingly, she was a tad bit disappointed.

chapter TWENTY

DYLAN KEPT HIS CONVERSATION WITH Isaiah to small talk. The man had informed Dylan that he’d been managing the club for a few years now and only recently had Max finished remodeling the hotel and casino. According to Isaiah, he shared the management duties with his twin brother, Micah, and they also worked close with the club managers in New York. If Dylan understood correctly, Isaiah was letting him know that two was better than one when it came to taking on a task that size.

For the full half hour he’d spent chatting, Dylan had watched Sarah. She seemed comfortable here. More so than she’d been at Devotion. He wasn’t sure why that was. Perhaps it was because there was the illusion of privacy with all the sectioned-off seating. Then again, there were plenty of open areas where things were beginning to ignite quickly.

“Well, I’ll leave you two to it,” Isaiah said, getting to his feet. “It was a pleasure meeting you, and if you have any questions, feel free to call me any time.”

Dylan took the card that Isaiah held out to him.

“That’s my cell phone number and my brother’s is on there as well. We’ll be glad to help out if you need us, but I’m sure you’ll do fine.”

Shaking Isaiah’s proffered hand, Dylan said good night and then waited until he was alone with Sarah once again.

“What do you think?” she asked when he turned to face her.

“About?”

“About this place? Managing something like this?”

Dylan glanced around.

He liked the idea of managing a club, knew he could handle the task. For one, he needed something to occupy his time, to keep him busy. Something of this nature would definitely do that. It would give him another chance, something he honestly hadn’t thought he would get. He was still on the fence as to whether he deserved it or not.

“It seems doable,” he answered nonchalantly.

Sarah grinned. “Yeah?” She moved closer. “Do you think you could handle seeing scantily clad women all night and day?”

Dylan nuzzled her neck. “Darlin’, there’s only one scantily clad woman I care to look at. I assure you that.”

Sarah pulled back and stared at him. He could tell she was processing his words and probably wasn’t sure whether to believe him or not.

He figured it was best to show her.

Getting comfortable on the couch, Dylan held out his hand to her. “Come here.”

She inched closer.

“On my lap,” he instructed. “Facing me.”

He couldn’t hide his amusement when Sarah glanced down at her short skirt. Yeah, she knew what would happen when she straddled him. Which had been his point exactly.

Dylan recognized the heat in her eyes. She was going to accept his dare.

A few seconds later, Sarah was straddling his thighs, the stretchy fabric of her dress still hiding her ass from anyone looking in on them, but it had ridden high on her thighs, revealing the black silk beneath.

“There’s something you need to know about a place like this,” he explained, sliding his fingers along the sleek column of her neck, trailing over her collarbone. He urged the strap of her dress down her arm, noticing the way her nipples pebbled beneath the fabric.

“What’s that?” she asked breathlessly.

“People are here for various reasons,” he noted.

“Such as?”

Dylan watched Sarah’s face as he freed one breast from the restricting fabric, his thumb gliding over her nipple. She wasn’t wearing a bra, which made it easier for him to tease her.

“Some like to come to watch.”

Sarah’s hand tightened on his bicep when he flicked her nipple with his fingernail.

“Some like to be watched.”

“Which do you prefer?” she whispered hoarsely.

“I like both,” he stated, leaning in and licking the dusky pink tip, nibbling with his teeth. “The thought of someone watching as I pleasure you… It’s an aphrodisiac, Sarah. It makes my dick hard.”

Sarah leaned forward, pressing her breast closer to his mouth.

“Is someone watching us now?” she asked.

Dylan pulled back, peering up at her face once more. “I don’t know. But that’s part of the appeal. If I had to guess, I’d say yes, someone is. Who? I don’t know. Don’t care, either. I’m not looking for someone to join us, but if someone else can take pleasure from what I’m doing to you, more power to them. As long as they don’t interfere.”

Sarah drew in a breath when he once again leaned in and sucked her fully into his mouth, his tongue curling around her nipple as he palmed her ass, pulling her closer so he could grind the hard ridge of his erection against the apex of her thighs.

“Dylan…”

He released her from his mouth and leaned back, watching her. “Tell me, Sarah,” he encouraged. “What do you want me to do to you?”

Her eyes were shuttered, her lips parted. She looked like sex personified, and he had the urge to fuck her right here and now, showing her what it felt like, the rush that could be had in a place like this.

“I just… I don’t understand it,” she said, her head tilting slightly.

Dylan finally nodded. “Turn around.”
