Blake's Pursuit (Scanguards Vampires, #11)(73)

He couldn’t tell how long it took to come down from the high, but at some point he rolled to the side and took her with him, cradling her to his chest, draping one of her legs over his thigh, so he wouldn’t slip out of her drenched *.

“I can’t even begin to tell you what this means to me,” he murmured against her lips before he kissed her again.

“I thought I was floating on a cloud. I’ve never felt anything so… so amazing.” She opened her eyes. “Is it always like that?”

He smiled. “Between lovers, it’s like this. A vampire’s bite arouses, but it only turns truly erotic when it happens during lovemaking. Only then can the vampire’s bite fully unfold in all its facets.”

“Now I understand why a human would let a vampire bite her.”

He rolled onto his back, pulling her with him, readjusting his groin to fully seat himself inside her again.

“Thank you for letting me drink your blood,” Blake said, combing his fingers through her hair. “I wish I could tell you what it felt like to take you like this. To feel you give yourself to me so freely. Without reservation.” He pressed a kiss to her hair.

“But for you it can’t be anything new. You must have done this many times before.”

He slid his hand under her chin and lifted her head to make her look at him.

“Lilo, I’ve never bitten a woman during sex. I’ve never experienced this before. Sure, I’ve bitten humans before, but it was never like this. Never while making love. No bite has ever felt like what I just experienced with you. It was out-of-this-world. I’m afraid, Lilo, I’m going to get addicted to this, and to you.”

An almost shy smile crossed her lips. “So you might want to do this again?”

He pressed his head back into the pillow, closing his eyes for a moment. “Lilo, just like I could make love to you all day and all night, I would love to sink my fangs into you every single time.” He stroked his fingers over her cheek and traced the outline of her lips. “And I’d be the happiest man on this earth if you allowed me to bite you again.”

He rolled, bringing her underneath him again. “And now, I’d like to thank you for your generous gift.” He began to move inside her, thrusting back and forth.

Lilo gasped. “But you just—”

“—came? Yes, but I have your blood inside me, and guess what it’s doing to me.” He smirked and motioned to his groin. “It’s your own fault for asking me to bite you. I’m afraid naughty women like you need to be taught a lesson.”

She chuckled. “How?”

“Let’s discuss that after your next orgasm.”

“Lilo.”

Blake’s voice was close at her ear. She opened her eyes and shot up to a sitting position, finding Blake sitting at the edge of the Murphy bed, fully dressed. “Did I nod off?”

He brushed his knuckles over her cheek and smiled. “Just a few minutes. You needed it. I took a lot of blood from you.”

At the recollection of what that had felt like, she sensed heat rise into her cheeks. There was nothing on earth that was even comparable to a vampire’s bite. Now she understood why Hannah had sought out a vampire as her boyfriend. It practically ensured a satisfied sex life.

“Is that a blush?” he murmured at her ear.

She lifted her chin. “What if it is?”

“Then I’ll take it as a compliment. And as an invitation to do it again.”

A knock at the door and the rattling of the doorknob made her whirl her head toward it.

“Blake?” It was Wesley’s voice coming through the door.

“What do you want?” Blake responded, rising from the bed.

“Why’s the f*cking door locked? Open up, I’ve gotta talk to you. It’s important!”

“Give me a minute.” Blake tossed her an apologetic look. “Sorry, baby.” He walked to the wall next to the Murphy bed and pressed against it. A door that had looked like a panel opened up. “It’s just a tiny bathroom, but you can get dressed in here while I see what Wes wants.”

Stunned, she rose and looked into the small room. “You’re full of surprises.”

He shrugged. “Rose’s idea. She grew up in the Regency period, and they had secret panels that led into hidden rooms all the time. She figured it would be nice to have a place to freshen up when I sleep here on occasion.”

“What’s taking you so long?” Wes grunted outside the door and banged against it once more.

Blake grimaced. “I’d better talk to him before he flips.” He paused. “Oh, and come out when you’re done. I have no intention of hiding you in the closet.”

She snatched her clothes from the floor and slunk into the bathroom, pulling the door shut behind her. She only took a few minutes to clean up and get dressed. She’d never been one to spend a long time getting ready. Besides, she was curious about Wesley’s important news.

When she opened the door and stepped back into Blake’s office, he and Wesley were bending over his desk, a large, old book open before them. Wes looked up and spotted her. He didn’t appear to be surprised at seeing her. From the corner of her eye she saw that the Murphy bed was back inside the wall, and that fact made her relax.
